Definition of SEO
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a fundamental tool for websites since it represents the only communication channel with search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.). Therefore is very important the how we use web marketing. . SEO consists in optimizing web pages in order to integrate them perfectly to the search engine’s logic.
SEO On Page vs Off Page
SEO can be divided in two main categories: SEO On Page e SEO Off Page.
SEO On Page
SEO On Page consists in optimizing the web pages content in order to improve the ranking in SERPs (Search Engine Results Page), thus, increase the visibility of the product we offer and, consequently, attract more visitors, users or clients.
It is a technical analysis which starts from specific keywords search and ends with the implementation of the single page based on those keywords, by taking into account all types of content it contains (text, images, video, etc.) and other configurations that help the search engines to better interpret and, therefore, classify our page.

Important! Obviously, it is counterproductive to base all our efforts only on SEO, by losing sight of the product that we offer; metaphorically (not that much!), it is like attracting a large number of customers to our shop and closing no deal because of shoddy products or poor organization. Therefore, the more complex and, at the same time, more inspiring challenge is to find a balance between the quality of the product offered and the quality of the marketing promoted around this product.
SEO Off Page
The traditional concepts of marketing are reused in SEO marketing. By definition, it is not sufficient the quality of service or product offered to achieve the desired success; it is necessary that product is advertised and available to the majority of customers.
The basic concepts of SEO Off Page are two::
- Offer qualitative, interactive and easily sharable (es. interesting articles and other sort of posts in Social Media) content.
- Spread thi content with the most used tools, like Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram ecc), sectorial forums, Social Bookmarking (Delicious) and so on.
Nowadays, Social Media is a very effective SEO Off Page tool for the spread of the product that we offer and allow progressively to reach users apparently far away.
The main goal of SEO is to reach more users and make people talk about you, but Link Building is equally important for search engines. It consists in increasing the number of backlinks (incoming links), links of other pages that point to our site, and their quality (the importance of the website that has a links to us will make our website more importante).
